We rank 174 gutter companies across 244 New Jersey towns, and their Google star ratings are nearly identical: 49% show a flawless 5.0, 91% sit at 4.8 or higher, and not one is rated below 4.4. Review count is the signal that survives
What actually separates companies is how many people have reviewed them, and here the spread is enormous. The median company in our data has just 80 Google reviews. Only 13 of the 174 have cracked 500, and just five have topped 1,000:

These are the most-reviewed local specialists. We exclude national ad-brands like Ned Stevens and LeafFilter by policy (see how we rank), because a franchise's review pile says more about its ad budget than about the crew on your roof.
How to read a review count
- A 5.0 on 6 reviews is thin — it can be friends and family. A 4.8 on 900 is a track record.
- Look for depth and recency — 200 reviews whose newest is two years old is a company that has slowed down.
- Below ~15 reviews, treat the rating as provisional — not damning, just not yet proven.
- Read the 1- and 2-star reviews first — the pattern in the complaints tells you the real risk better than the average ever will.
Why we rank by review count, not stars
