Gutter styles, profiles & colors

K-style and half-round profiles, four metals, and 25+ seamless finishes — see the shapes and colors before you get quotes.

Every gutter we match you with is seamless — roll-formed in one continuous piece on your driveway, so the only joints are at the corners and downspouts. What's left to choose is the profile (the shape), the material, and the color. Here's what each looks like.

Two profiles: K-style & half-round

5″ & 6″ widths

K-Style (Ogee)

The flat-backed, crown-molding-shaped gutter on most modern NJ homes. It nails flush to the fascia, carries the most water for its width, and is the most economical seamless profile. Standard in 5-inch; step up to 6-inch for big or steep roofs.

5″ & 6″ widths

Half-Round

The classic half-moon trough for older, historic, and architecturally traditional homes — and a natural pairing with copper. The smooth bowl has no inside corners to trap debris, so it clogs less. Available in 5-inch and 6-inch.

Four materials

Aluminum

Most popular
$8–$15/ft·20–30 yrs

Rust-proof, lightweight, seamless-formed on site, and available in every color below. The default choice for the vast majority of NJ homes.

Copper

Premium
$25–$45/ft·50+ yrs

Elegant and extremely durable — it weathers to a natural patina and needs almost no upkeep. A signature look on historic, estate, and high-end homes.

Galvanized Steel

Heavy-duty
$9–$20/ft·15–25 yrs

Stronger than aluminum and better at taking impact from ladders or falling limbs, but it can eventually rust at seams and cut edges.

Zinc

Long-life
$24–$40/ft·50+ yrs

A premium European-style metal that self-heals scratches and lasts for decades with a soft matte-gray patina. Rare but exceptional.

Illustrative installed price ranges per linear foot; your quote depends on roof height, story count, and site access. Cleaning, guards, and repair are priced separately — see the cost calculator.

25+ seamless finishes

Aluminum seamless gutters come in a full coil-color range — match your trim, your roof, or make a deliberate accent. Swatches below are close approximations; your installer confirms the exact color to a physical sample.

Color names follow the standard aluminum coil chart. Copper and zinc are natural metals that weather to their own patina rather than a painted finish.

Gutter styles & colors — FAQ

K-style vs. half-round — which should I choose?

K-style (also called ogee) is the flat-backed, crown-molding-shaped gutter on most modern NJ homes — it carries more water for its size and is the most economical. Half-round is the rounded, half-moon profile suited to older, historic, and architecturally traditional homes, and it clogs less because there are no inside corners. Both come in 5-inch and 6-inch widths.

Do gutter colors cost extra?

Standard aluminum finishes — including the whites, browns, grays, and black most homes use — are the same price. Specialty and copper-tone finishes can carry a small premium, and real copper is a separate material entirely. Ask for your exact color to be confirmed to a physical sample.

Should I match my gutters to the roof, trim, or siding?

Most homeowners match the fascia/trim so the gutters visually disappear, or match the roof so the run reads as one line. Contrasting colors (like black on white trim) are a deliberate modern accent. Any of the finishes below can be seamless-formed to your home.

What is 5-inch vs 6-inch?

That is the width of the gutter opening. 5-inch K-style is standard for most homes; 6-inch (and larger 3×4 downspouts) moves roughly 40% more water and is worth it on steep roofs, large roof areas, or homes with heavy tree runoff — common on NJ properties under mature oak and maple.
